It started with an idea Gina had during our during our honeymoon in Europe. We were visiting Mont-Saint-Michel and she said, "Wouldn't it be great if there was a gothic novel that took place in real gothic place like this?" So we wrote it. Intensely for the first three years of our marriage. A really good first draft. Then we had kids.  It took a couple of good rewrites decades apart but we got it to the point where it is not perfect, but ready.

We regret that in the e-book version, the format did not support the French vowel accents, but instead places a rather disruptive box.  For this reason words such as Abbè , Père , Frère and others do not appear as they do in the paperback.
